More About Visel Coat of Arms
" Still Under Discovery "

Found in Heraldrys Institute of Rome
"Ekkebreth Visel 1135 Cologne Flat painter Ekkebreth 1159 Rottweil factor Chrannest 1508 Tennvil Univ. Rector Place name Vissel (Rhineland). Visel Since the end of the 13th century, from Charles IV (1346-1378), the emperors have awarded coats of arms without elevating the beneficiaries to the nobility. In the 15th century, they entrusted the Count Palatine with the awarding of coats of arms, who since then has also granted coats of arms to bourgeois families."
This coincides with Patrick Visel's findings in there were possibly two different spellings of the name. "V" is rarely used in German, whereas a "w" is pronounced as "v" or "f".
In doing a search under German Coat of arms, the Vissel History and coat of arms can be found here, however, it notes that the Vissel name was first recorded in Amsterdam, and first mentioned in the charters of 1275 when Floris IV, the count of Holland, granted its charter.
